Everyone here at the World Wrestling Coalition were shocked and saddened to learn of the sudden passing of Matt Lowry due to an aneurysm.

Fans of WWC have watched Matt both as “Matt Riot” and as one half of the “High School Heroes” with Sami Callihan. WWC wishes to extend it’s condolences to the friends, family and colleagues of Matt. We will miss him greatly, and the wrestling world has lost a rising star.

At Fate 2009, JT Stahr defeated both Ganger and Matt Taylor in a three way dance to earn the right to face the WWC Champion at a future date for the title. Well, the contracts are signed and it will be one on one September 12, 2009 JT Stahr challenging WWC Heavyweight Champion Cody Hawk in the main event of TitleClash 3!

Cody Hawk won the WWC Championship for the second time earlier this summer in an epic steel cage match with Astonishing Aaron Williams. Since then he has held on to it in hard fought matches with WWE Star Eugene and Williams in a five star best two out of three falls match at Fate 09. Hawk is the hand picked champion of the Administration and WWC President Patrick Black and Black is building the company and its new direction around Hawk.

JT Stahr is a former WWC Champion, holding that title from August 2006 to February 2007 Sahr is one of the move beloved and gifted wrestlers in the WWC. Stahr has never been more focused on winning gold than he is right now. Stahr nearly won the title back in February of this year from Aaron Williams but it was Cody Hawk who cost Stahr the belt. Stahr then would be denied title shot after title shot until June at No Escape 2009 when he would be hand picked by Ric Byrne as the man to carry WWC into the future. Usually known for his playful antics, Stahr has been nothing but serious about his chance at the title.

Two of the greatest wrestlers in the WWC fighting over the most important prize in all of Ohio? The World Wrestling Coalition Championship is on the line and it will be a classic match as JT Stahr faces Cody Hawk one on one at TitleClash 3!

TitleClash 3 will be held September 12, 2009 at the Municipal Building in Aberdeen, OH. Tickets are $8 at the door, $5 presale. You can pick up presale tickets at Active Care Chiropractic in Maysville, KY. Bell time is 7pm. WWC Wrestling, the very best in Ohio Indy Wrestling!

Dave Nevada Injured at Fate ’09, Out 4-6 Months!

At Fate 2009, fans witnessed Dave Nevada collapse during the street fight for the Tag Team Championships. He went down after apparently tearing his quad muscle in the middle of the ring while attempting to save his partner, Devlin Anderson, from a submission attempt at the hands of The Penthouse Playboys.

We have learned that it is indeed a quad tear that is going to put Nevada on the shelf for at least 4-6 months maybe longer. We here at the World Wrestling Coalition want to wish Dave a quick recovery. Nevada entered the company in late 2006 and has been a main stay ever since winning the Tag Team Championship four different times with Ric Byrne and most notably with his long time partner Devlin Anderson.

We’ll have more on this story as it develops. You can wish Nevada a speedy recovery at his official Myspace page (www.myspace.com/davenevada).

WWC: Fate ’09 – Aberdeen, OH – 7/11/09

This past Saturday night the fates of the stars of the WWC were in you the fans’ hands as we presented Fate 2009. With the Administration and WWC President Patrick Black out of the state due to business meetings, the Board of Directors gave the fans a chance to vote in all three title matches. Here is what went down.

The night started with the Honorary Commissioner and Voice of WWC, “The Mastermind” V.L. Stricklett, coming out start the show. He first called out “Astonishing” Aaron Williams who read a challenge from his former friend Terry Raines for a one on one match at TitleClash 3 (September 12 in Aberdeen). Stricklett then called out Matt Taylor to the ring to discuss the results of the online voting to see who would face WWC Champion Cody Hawk tonight in a best 2 out of 3 falls match for the title.

It was revealed that both Williams and Taylor had won the voting in a tie! Many fans were already chanting three way, before Stricklett dropped a bombshell. The Board of Directors had decided to let Williams face Hawk to full fill the automatic rematch clause in Aaron’s contract. This didn’t sit well with Taylor, who nearly let his temper get the best of him and almost assaulted Mastermind. Williams talked Taylor down from doing something he would regret but Taylor left the ring feeling screwed over by WWC once again.

The first match of the night saw Superstar Shawn Parks pick up the win over the Masked Sensation Eclipso in a hard fought match. These two were in the voting to see who would face Dangerous Damien Kass later tonight for the North American Championship but that honor went to Lil Hulk Jake Ashworth. It seemed like Eclipso might pull off an upset over the veteran Parks, but Superstar proved once again that when he is focused on something there is no stopping him. He took home not only the win but a North American Championship match at the upcoming TitleClash 3 show.

“Bad Attitude” Brian Beech scored a victory over Eddie Gonzales w/”Hardcore” Heather Owens. Beech proved once again why he is considered one of the best on the Indy scene and made it quite clear he is looking for a title shot in the future.

The fans voted the stipulation overwhelming in the Tag Team Title match as a Street Fight! “Pretty Boy” Jimmy Malloy hit the ring alone stating that he doesn’t know where his Penthouse Playboy partner Elliot Whitescarver is. The last he saw of him was at an all night party hanging with plus size models, and that was weeks ago! Malloy said he didn’t have a partner for his title match, but that his manager Violent Bob Humperdink did…himself!

That’s right fans Violent Bob Humperdink came to the ring ready to wrestle in this street fight! Due to his contract from the six man back in June he still has five more months as an active wrestler for the company and is planning on using it to become Tag Team Champion!

WWC Tag Team Champions Devlin Anderson & Dave Nevada hit the ring and engaged in a brutal street fight with the Playboys that saw everything from chairs, ladders, tables, street signs, baseball bats and trash can lids used. But in the end, the champions were attacked by Ganger, for no apparent reason, that set up a series of events that cost them the titles. Ganger attacked Anderson during the match which distracted the champions long enough for the Playboys to take advantage. This led to Nevada trying to make a comeback only to go down with what appeared to be a knee injury.

With Nevada being out of action Anderson fell pray to the Playboys and lost the tag championship. After the match Anderson and most of the WWC staff checked on Nevada’s condition. We will have more on what appears to be a serious leg injury in the coming days. Even Jimmy Malloy showed concern for Nevada, while Humperdink did not.

A lot of questions loom in this match now. Why did Ganger attack Devlin Anderson? How long is Nevada going to be out of action? And what does this make of the WWC tag division?

JT Stahr picked up a win over Matt Taylor and Ganger in a 3 Way Dance to earn the right to face either Aaron Williams or Cody Hawk at TitleClash 3 for the belt. After the match Taylor once again nearly let his emotions and temper get the best of him before storming off.

Dangerous Damien Kass w/Naughtia defended his title against Lil Hulk Jake Ashworth successfully in an action packed match. But Kass wasn’t done with Ashworth. Returning the favor to his friend Nikita Allanov, who has a Flag vs. Flag Match at TitleClash 3 scheduled against Ashworth, he went on the attack. It was only after Superstar Shawn Parks made the save did Kass leave the ring.

And in the main event, WWC Heavyweight Champion Cody Hawk beat Astonishing Aaron Williams in a best 2 out of 3 falls match to retain the title. Hawk won the first fall and Williams scored the second but a well placed low blow lead Hawk to win the third and final fall.

We want to thank you the fans for supporting us and we’ll be back on September 12, 2009 for “TitleClash 3”. We won’t be in Aberdeen on August 8th or August 22nd like planned but we will return for what is shaping up to be the biggest show we have ever put on!

WWC: Wrestle 4 Hope – Aberdeen, OH – 6/26/09

The stars of the World Wrestling Coalition and The Cancer Care Club packed Aberdeen, OH this past Friday Night for “Wrestle4Hope” in order to raise money for the Cancer Care Club. We want to thank all the sponsors and people who made this show possible. Here is a brief look at what went down.

The night kicked off with former WWC Heavyweight Champion Astonishing Aaron Williams hitting the ring and giving up his match with TNA star Shark Boy so he could cash in his title rematch and make the main event a three way dance between himself Eugene and WWC Champion Cody Hawk. However WWC President Patrick Black interrupted this and agreed Williams should get a rematch with Cody Hawk but not tonight. Tonight he would face Eddie Gonzales in singles action.

Astonishing Aaron Williams def. Eddie Gonzales in a singles contest via pin fall. After the match the man who cost Williams his title Terry Raines came nose to nose with Williams and the two had to be pulled apart by security. These two former best friends are on a collision course with one another.

The Administration next interrupted a heartfelt speech by the man who helped put this together senior official Steve Helpsenstine and Kara Kildare, who had recently lost her father to cancer. The Administration, led by Patrick Black made a joke out of Helpenstine, nearly causing him to come to blows with the president. This didn’t happen as Helpenstine was removed to the back and Kildare was placed in the next match.

Kara Kildare scored a win over nemesis Hardcore Heather Owens, evening up their battles one to one…

Nikita Allanov (w/Patrick Black) scored a DQ win over Superstar Shawn Parks after North American Champion Dangerous Damien Kass entered the ring and punched Allanov. The crowd was shocked as Allanov and Kass were about to come to blows. But then Kass and Allanvo hugged, making it clear they were in league with one another. Allanov scored a big win over Parks, and Kass had the “special enforcer” with his match with Shark Boy in his back pocket.

WWC Tag Team Champion Devlin Anderson & Dave Nevada outlasted four other teams in a special Tag Team Title Gauntlet match. The first two teams were the debuting team of Larry D. & Dynamite Chris Riggs taking on the returning Bad News. Bad News had the crowd behind them as they scored the first decision against Riggs & D, who were impressive in their debut but not enough topple the veterans. Bad News weren’t ready to take out the next two men as the new team of Jake Omen & Kaden Assad defeated News to move onto the next round. Omen & Assad almost scored a win and thus the tag titles in the next round from Anderson & Nevada but the champions outlasted this dangerous duo to face former Tag Team Champions The Penthouse Playboys in the final round. The match turned into chaos, and both teams were disqualified. This meant that Devlin Anderson & Dave Nevada walked out the tag team champions.

Ganger scored a win over Matt Taylor in dirty fashion. Taylor was set to defend the honor of his best friend Big Kahuna Kenny Lucas whose career Ganger ended back in April. After the match, Taylor vowed to avenge his friend.

Eclipso def. Randy “The King” Allen and Super Oprah in a three way dance.

North American Champion Dangerous Damien Kass wrestled TNA Star Shark Boy next but the match quickly spun out of control as Nikita Allanov got involved. When it became a two on one situation, Superstar Shawn Parks rushed the ring to even up the odd. Shark Boy challenged DDK and Allanov to a match right there and then and it was excepted.

Shark Boy & Superstar Shawn Parks def. Dangerous Damien Kass & Nikita Allanov in tag team action.

Former WWE Star Eugene appeared to have won the WWC Heavyweight Championship from Cody Hawk, but Patrick Black was on hand to point out that there had been a DQ earlier in the match, thus reversing the decision and letting Cody Hawk walk out the winner and still WWC Champion.

Thank you to all the fans and supporters who came out to support us. We’ll be back in Aberdeen on July 11 for a night of FATE, where the choices are in the hands of the fans and fate as you will get to vote on the matches starting July 1st on www.wwcweb.com.

Ledger Independent Article About Wrestle 4 Hope on June 26th

A local independent wrestling organization will be squaring off to help the fight against cancer with a benefit show later this month.

On June 26, the World Wrestling Coalition will bring its roster of rough-and-tumblers to the municipal building in Aberdeen, Ohio for a “Wrestle-4-Hope” event to benefit the Cancer Care Club.

It will be the WWC’s first charity fight since the widely-successful “Ryan’s Sight Fight” event last year and organizers are expecting a massive crowd to turn out in support of a very worthy cause.

“Cancer has touched so many lives in this area, and this is our way of helping people to help other people,” said Marty Mastin, a key organizer of the event. “The Cancer Care Club has helped so many people. It’s really a great organization.”

The fight against cancer is particularly close to the hearts of Mastin and another central organizer, Steve Helphinstine. Mastin’s mother and Helphinstine’s sister have both recently been diagnosed with cancer.

Since 1991, CCC has been providing assistance to individuals battling cancer throughout the Southern Ohio and Northern Kentucky. The group is based in Flemingsburg, but affiliates are growing in Bracken and Bath Counties.

The club tries to target specific needs of individuals and families who are referred to them, and they also offer general assistance, such as gas and grocery cards, which can be extremely valuable to families working through difficult times.

“Last year we helped over 500 people and gave back over $160,0000 to the community,” said Gordon Peratt, with CCC. “We are constantly fund-raising, so we are just thrilled when people approach us with opportunities like Wrestle 4 Hope. It’s a blessing. We can’t thank them enough.”

The organization is operated entirely by volunteers who receive no compensation whatsoever, Peratt said. The Club is willing to help anyone n their fight against cancer; individuals need only provide a copy of a pathology report (to eliminate the potential for illegitimate claims) to receive assistance.

As practically all of CCC’s referrals circulate by word-of-mouth, Mastin said the benefit fight is an opportunity to make people more aware of the group and its efforts.

“We are trying to get their name out there as well, because they do such a great community service for cancer patients and their families,” said Mastin.

Both Helphinstine and Mastin helped put together the WWC’s last benefit show in August of 2008 for “Ryan’s Sight Fight,” an effort to raise funds for medial treatment to help local youth Ryan Nolder see.

The event was so successful that WWC decided to establish a permanent fund-raising arm.

“We had such a good time doing that and it was so successful, that we decided to start Wrestle 4 Hope to try to give back the community as much as possible,” said WWC owner and “play-by-play man” Jeremiah Young.

When the company heard that organizers were interested in helping out the Cancer Care Club, Young said WWC jumped at the chance.

The WWC has been growing in popularity. Shows circulate throughout Southern Ohio, including a standing date every second Saturday at the Aberdeen Municipal Building that has a dedicated following.

Their shows feature a variety of fighters, from former WWE star Eugene and TNA star Shark Boy to local favorite “Astonishing” Aaron Williams, and the June 26 ticket should not leave fans disappointed.

“We want to fill the place,” said Peratt, “so we hope everyone will come out and support us.”

WWC also takes time for fans to meet and talk with wrestlers during show, Young said, and several raffles to benefit CCC will be held at the Wrestle 4 Hope event as well.

Tickets for the Wrestle 4 Hope event are $12 at the door, $10 if purchased in advance, $5 for ages seven and under. Advance tickets are available from any WWC representative and at various local businesses, including Active Care Chiropractic in Maysville and Dr. Day’s office (see Kelly Claypool).

Tickets and additional information can also be obtained by contacting Helphinstine at 606-407-3210 or Mastin at 606-584-7181.

WWC: No Escape ’09 – Aberdeen, OH – 6/13/09

This past Saturday night, the stars of the World Wrestling Coalition brought down the house in Aberdeen, OH to a near sold out crowd for “No Escape 2009”. Many things to report from this event, here is a look at what went down:

The night started with the newly formed team of “The Masked Sensation” Eclipso and Lil Hulk defeating the debuting team of Max Fahrenheit and Jason Dragon. While Dragon and Fahrenheit showed they had the chops to cut it in the WWC, Eclipso and Lil Hulk picked up the victory and moved themselves closer to their goal, a WWC Tag Team Title Shot.

The Administration made its presence known next as they interrupted WWC Champion Astonishing Aaron Williams during an interview with former tag partner and current WWC Interviewer Terry Raines. WWC President Patrick Black and McKenzie told Williams his days as champion were numbered and that the Administration’s time had arrived. When Williams was done, Black called out former WWC President Jeremiah L. Young and tried to force another apology from him. When Young refused, McKenzie slapped him. This brought out Kara Kildare to run off McKenzie and Black.

Hardcore Heather Owens defeated Kara Kildare in women’s action. Owens used under handed tactics to win the match. Kildare was quoted to saying after the match that “…it isn’t over.”

Matt Taylor defeated Big Guns Jeff Cannon once again taking out a “hired gun” of the Administration. Taylor celebrated the win with the fans following.

In the WWC Tag Team Championship match, Dangerous Damien Kass & Eddie Gonzeles (w/Naughtia & Dave Anderson) shocked the world by bringing former manager of the tag team champions Ivanna Profit to ringside with them. However Devlin Anderson & Dave Nevada would pull off the win with the assist from Ivanna, retaining their tag team titles and reunited with their former manager.

Brian Beech battled The Administration’s Nikita Allanov to a time limit draw. Allanov went for a steel chair after the match but Matt Taylor rushed the ring with the aid of a few WWC allies to help Beech. Patrick Black reminded all the men in the ring that if any of them interfere in the main event tonight that they’ll loose their contracts.

The Penthouse Playboys & VB Humperdink defeated The Foundation & Will Profit in six man tag action in order to gain a WWC tag team title shot on July 11.

Following the match Ric Byrne informed the crowd that he wouldn’t be able to wrestle after tonight due to injuries. So he knew he had only one more match in him. He presented the VCW (Violent Championship Wrestling) Heavyweight Championship to the crowd and called on JT Stahr, who he considers “the best wrestler in WWC” to give him one great last match. This celebration was interrupted by Benjamin Kimera who blasted Byrne on the microphone. Soon Kimera was joined by fellow VCW wrestler Shirley Doe and after a brief brawl it turned into a four way dance for the VCW championship.

In a wild match, we saw JT Stahr pick up the win and the VCW Championship by pinning Byrne. In an emotional moment the ringside area filled up with wresters showing respect for the longest running consistent member of the roster. Byrne was given a standing ovation and a large thank you by the crowd in Aberdeen.

In the main event, Cody Hawk defeated WWC Champion Astonishing Aaron Williams inside a steel cage to become a two-time champion. Hawk had the aid of Williams’ friend and former tag team partner Terry Raines who slammed the steel door in Williams face. As Hawk celebrated on the outside with the Administration, Raines continued the attack on Williams in the ring.

Many questions are coming out of No Escape and they may have an answer when WWC returns to Aberdeen, OH on June 26th for “Wrestle4Hope”.
